Things That Make Me Ridiculously Happy in Bali

It really doesn’t take much to make me ridiculously happy in Bali.

It’s usually the little things. The things I’ve done a hundred times but somehow still make me think… yep, this is why I love being here.

Two coffees in the morning. Not one. Two

Taking in everything Bali. The smells, the warmth on wake up, the sunshine. I just love sitting and watching the world go by.

A fresh pedicure or a massage

This is a day-one Bali essential.

The most beautiful leg and foot massage, scrubbed feet, and a fresh coat of polish. Add a full body massage.

The pampering starts....I’ve officially arrived.

Finding something fabulous

This gets me every time.

I can be heading somewhere completely unrelated and suddenly spot a bowl, bag, cushion, piece of furniture or something for the house that I absolutely do not need.

Five minutes later I’m working out how to get it home.

And that’s one of the things I love most about wandering around Bali. You never quite know what you’re going to find.

That first sunset and warm evenings

The first sunset is always the best. (Oh, and the last!)

I get so excited heading out for those first sunset drinks. Warm air, something cold to drink, people watching and that feeling of knowing I’m back in Bali.

It gets me every single time.

This is one of the things I love most.

Add to this sitting outside long after the sun has gone down and still being warm. No jackets. No rushing inside. Just talking, laughing and letting the night carry on. You always laugh ALOT when in Bali.

The people

Oh, the people.

Warm, loving, kind and beautiful.

The smiles, the laughter and the way they make you feel so welcome. I’ve met so many wonderful people in Bali over the years, and they are such a huge part of why I keep coming back.

For me, they really are the heart of Bali.

Waking up and remembering I’m in Bali

That little moment when I first wake up, hear the birds outside, feel the warmth and remember where I am.

I’m in Bali.

Ridiculously happy.

And I think that’s what I love most about Bali.

It doesn’t have to be the big things.

Two coffees. Fresh toes. Finding something fabulous. A massage. Warm evenings. That first sunset. And definitely the people.

Simple little things.

But somehow, in Bali, they feel pretty bloody good.

This is my kind of Bali.
